WELCOME TO TEAM

The ECWA AIDS Ministry (TEAM) is a ministry of Evangelical Churches of West

Africa (ECWA). TEAM seeks to empower ECWA members to effectively address

the HIV/AIDS crisis within their community. With God's Word as our base, TEAM is

empowering ECWA members to serve their communities in areas of Awareness

Education, Counselling and Care.

TEAM has been a pioneer in the fight against HIV/AIDS among Faith based organizations in Nigeria. Thus, taking the lead TEAM provides consultancy services to other faith based organizations and has facilitated the formation of HIV/AIDS organizations in other denominations in Nigeria.

From its inception, TEAM's activities have continued to grow as needs and demands for services increased. TEAM began work in 1996 as just an awareness unit but now has grown to include empowering and capacity building in areas of: Training of Trainers, Counselling Training, Home Based Care Training and Peer Education Training.

 

A recent external evaluation found that TEAM has made significant impact in areas where training have been conducted. Stigma has been greatly reduced and church members and family are caring for the infected and affected.
